Meet the Grasshoppers

Albert Elrom
Albert is the test and validation team leader at Mainsoft, where he’s responsible for making sure Grasshopper works and plays well with the Visual Studio development environment as well as with Java and other 3rd party tools. Albert’s been in the software industry for more than 8 years, testing software for several companies, including Computer Associates.
Dekel Cohen
Dekel leads Grasshopper’s tools, IDE, application servers, and debugger projects. His computing related passions include system programming, computer science, and developer productivity research. He’s been in the software industry for over 12 years, the last 6 of which at Mainsoft.
Jonas Martinsson
Jonas is a newlywed who moved to Israel from Sweden earlier this year. He’s the newest member of the Mainsoft development team, working on the VS IDE integration and MSBuild system to integrate Grasshopper into the Visual Studio experience. Jonas has been in the software development business for the past decade, doing everything from agile development activities to coaching, MFC, ATL, COM, and other cutting-edge stuff.
Noam Lampert
Noam is a Mainsoft veteran who’s been with the company for more than a decade. Currently, Noam manages the Grasshopper R&D team, and he is in charge of daily build cycles, source control synchronization, working with the Mono development team, and creating the overall architecture of the Grasshopper product line. Noam got his feet wet working in the Army intelligence corps.
Philippe Cohen
With more than 15 years of experience developing commercial software products, Philippe Cohen is holding the position of VP of Product since 2002. In this role he oversees the product management, R&D, and support teams for Mainsoft’s product suite. Before taking over his current position, Cohen served as Director of R&D. He joined Mainsoft in January 1996 as a Senior Product Architect.
Rafael Mizrahi
Rafael (Rafi) works as a sales engineer at Mainsoft. Prior to that he cross-compiled 4.7 million lines of code from .NET to Java as QA Manager, leading large turn-key customer projects. Primary responsibilities included managing a team of testers (SDE/T) responsible for developing, implementing, and executing automated test suites across multiple platforms and operating systems. Rafi is a deeply technical, geeky guy and a GarageGeeks member in Israel.
Roei Erez
Roei (pronounced Roy-E) leads Grasshopper’s core product development team. He’s in charge of cross-compilation, .NET to Java language translation, and the runtime infrastructure, among other things… Roei has been in the software industry for 4+ years, the last two of which have been at Mainsoft.
Tal Klahr
Tal works as a QA lead at Mainsoft, responsible for making sure that Grasshopper performs as it’s supposed to. She runs thousands of tests, including unit tests, performance, stress, IDE automation tests, manual test scenarios, and much more. Tal started her career as a C and C++ developer…
Yaacov Cohen
Yaacov Cohen is the President and CEO of Mainsoft. He joined the company in 1994, became CTO in 1997 and CEO in 2000. Yaacov is a strong believer that modern management lessons can be found in the Jewish Bible, or as it’s called in Christianity, the Old Testament. He is also the father of seven – two boys and five girls – ages two to fourteen years old.
